Nordic Track Commercial 1750

$1,599

Made in China

The one treadmill that we were most disappointed with was the Nordic Track Commercial 1750.  This is the most searched brand name on Amazon and this particular treadmill sells extremely well online so we assumed that it would give the other treadmills in our review a run for their money.  It was a no brainer to include in our ratings!  So how did it do?  Not well.

For starters, this is not actually a “commercial” treadmill as stated in the name.  If you flip up the deck, underneath there is actually a sticker that reads “for consumer use only”!!  So what does “commercial” mean?  It means that this is a Nordic Track treadmill that was in a commercial.  Like a TV or You Tube commercial…. like an “advertisement”.  That kind of floored us.  How incredibly misleading.  We even called Nordic Track and a customer support person told us that “it is named commercial because it is the one from the commercials”.  Ha Ha.

**On a side note the follow review will hurt our chances at making money.  If we posted a glowing review of the Nordic Track treadmill then we could make money by people clicking on the links to Amazon or directly to the Nordic Track website.  This is called “affiliate marketing” and we could earn up to 15% for people who click the links and end up buying.  This is why all the so called “review” sites exist; to make money.  Our below review is honest and you are not going to read this type of criticism anywhere else because it would be a waste of time for most people to write something like this. There would be no point.  While we do affiliate marketing, we are also not very good at it.  We are more into being honest. Review sites are not a significant source of income for us and therefore we can afford to be honest.  Sorry Nordic Track….

The Nordic Track 1750 scored the worst score in our testing.  A 71 out of 100.  This “tv advertisement” treadmill had the greatest amount of speed loss (94.20%) which was very noticeable underfoot.  When a heavier person walked or ran on this treadmill, there was a “bogging” down of the motor that even sounded underpowered. The overall feel and performance of the belt was not good.  We could not tighten the belt enough to stop it from slipping.  The walking belt also was raised off the deck due metal belt guides under the frame to keep the belt centered.  These belt guides force the belt to curl under thus producing an air gap between the bottom of the belt and the treadmill deck.  This created a negative feel.  To top everything off, it was also our loudest treadmill tested at 70 decibels.   This is not a treadmill we would recommend.  Also only had a 2 year parts warranty and a high starting speed of 1mph.

Pros:  The Nordic Track treadmill has a decent cockpit area for a larger user.  Easy to reach and read electronics and good overall frame stability.

Cons:  Treadmill belt slipping could not be stopped by our service technician.  Cheap feeling belt and underpowered motor.  Also the noisiest of all the treadmill we tested.
