OMA 6134 Treadmill

$1,899

Made in China

This was also an interesting one for us.  We have seen a trend in the fitness industry (And we are sure most other industries) where products are being shipped directly from a China factory directly to Amazon and there is literally no USA support from the brand.  This is an issue because Amazon does not provide customer service, they simply tell you to ship the item back for a refund and then tell you to buy a new one.  That is fine for things that weigh under 5 lbs but what about a 250 lb treadmill?  What if you have a small rear roller end cap damaged in shipping, how do you get it fixed?  There is not one to send you a part, no one to help you replace it so Amazon tells you to pack it up and ship it back.  Not a great situation and one that we really do not like.

OMA is one of these brands that expected to give you a lot of “bang for the buck” because this is really a straight from the factory product and OMA has far less costs in the product.  So how did it do? Not as well as we expected.  First off, the display was huge and quite frankly, felt like it provided the same amount of info a Casio watch from the 90s.  There is no reason for that display to be that gigantic.  The OMA Treadmill also had a poor testing with speed acceleration and deceleration so doing “interval” training is out of the question.  The OMA Treadmill could not reach its targets speed by the time the specific interval ended.  This treadmill took almost 300% longer to reach 8mph compared to some of the other tested brands.  On the bright side however, there were somethings we liked.  The OMA Treadmill did feel strong underfoot and did not experience as much “speed loss” when we put a 270lb person on the machine.  We did like the position of the handlebars and we liked the sturdy overall feel of the treadmill.  This was also one of the quieter treadmills we tested.

Pros:  Good feeling treadmill deck and frame, very sturdy.  Well located handle bar position and one of the more quiet machines we tested. Easy to read, big electronics which would be nice for older people.  Simple functions.

Cons.  No USA customer Support.  Huge red flag if you ever need onsite service and don’t want to have to repackage your treadmill and ship it back to Amazon for a minor service issue.  Very slow to speed up from 2mph – 8mph (31.23 seconds) Unnecessarily large upper display with very limited information / data.
