Nautilus R618 Recumbent Bike Review

$799

Here at Big Guy Treadmill Reviews & Bikes we try our best to take into consideration the price point of the product we are reviewing but.. we also feel an obligation to look out for the demographics of our readers.  Bottom line, if you weigh in the high 200s or over 300lbs, then you need an honest review.  You don’t need or want some watered-down review.  So, that brings us to the $799 Nautilus R 618 Recumbent Bike.  The quick version is that this is a bike that probably cost about $150 to manufacture.  How good can it really be, especially for a bigger person.  Well, you get what you pay and for $799 it is not a bad bike.  But, will it work for YOU? This is an interesting bike because there are many “ok” things about it.  It doesn’t feel great, but it is not horrible.  It is kind of smooth.  It is kind of easy to adjust.  It is kind of ok.  If you are over 6 feet and over 250lbs, it will feel. alright.  That is the tough spot we are in because we are here to give you recommendations and sometimes, we are still on the fence even after reviewing something.  If you are a bigger person then the seat back may hit you in the wrong spot.  If you are not in good shape, the starting resistance may be a little high for you.  This bike is not the easiest to adjust to while you are sitting on it but not too bad if you adjust the seat before you sit down.  There are many “maybe and maybe nots” about this bike as you probably heard in our review.  We have seen and been on worse bikes, but we have also been on better bikes for not too much more. If you can bump up your budget a little more, we would probably suggest going for the Sole R92.  If you can go even more, then the 3G Cardio Elite RB would be your best bet.

In all, the Nautilus R 618 Recumbent Bike is just ok.  There is nothing that is terrible about it but there is nothing that we can get excited about
either.  Sorry, this feels like a lazy review but all we can do is give you our point of view.

Pros:  Price point is good.  That is about it.

Cons:  Wide Q Factor, maybe not the best fit for a bigger person.  Larger than average total length.  A larger person may not find the seat back rest
very comfortable.

If you have had good luck with Nautilus products before and want stay with the brand then it could be a good purchase. If you are pushing 300+ lbs. and
want something that will fit you and feel good, then spend a bit more and look at a different bike.  That is our take.
