Arizona-based At Home Fitness commissions a review site 15 years in the making that’s a must-read before buying a treadmill.
PHOENIX, Arizona – Big Guy Treadmill Review is an undertaking like no other in the fitness industry’s history.
Review sites can be found all over the Internet with wildly varying degrees of research and credibility, but never before has so much time, effort and money been put into researching high-end treadmills like Big Guy Treadmill Review.
Big Guy Treadmill review is the brainchild of all our At Home Fitness customers.
While we would love to take credit for this website, the reality is that we owe it to the feedback of our customers over the last 15 years.
Big Guy Treadmill review was funded by our actual business, At Home Fitness, LLC. We own and operate retail stores located in the Valley of the Sun.
Our At Home Fitness superstores, located in Ahwatukee, Scottsdale and Gilbert, sell high-end fitness equipment to customers who want to see, touch and feel the products before they buy.
We sell award-winning brands like Life Fitness, Cybex, 3G Cardio, Inspire Fitness, Star Trac, Water Rower and a whole lot more.
We are the place people go if they want to see the good stuff in person: quality products that are not splashed all over the internet and marketed with fake ratings and reviews.
Our customers know that we have great equipment and they’ve been asking us for many years questions like this: “What are the best products in your store? How does your equipment stack up to what we found online? WHAT’S THE BEST OF THE BEST?
We finally said, “OK! We’ll do some rankings. We’ll start with treadmills.”
Like anything we do, we went all out to compile our rankings the right way. We spent about $20,000 on products, lighting, equipment, etc., to do a truly legitimate review of the leading brands.
We rated leading brands that we carry such as Life Fitness and 3G Cardio, as well as other top brands like Peloton, Bowflex, Nordic Track, OMA and more.
And, we had a big guy play the leading role: 6-foot-4, 298-pound Big “Mike” Sullivan.
Most review sites don’t take into account how a treadmill will hold up when used by a big person. Not all of us weigh under two bills.
“Big Mike,” a former college athlete, stretched out his hamstrings and calf muscles, and ran like he hasn’t ran in many years to add his own first-person research. No one likes to run or walk on a treadmill that shakes or wobbles and “Big Mike” will tell you which machines that are rated for users weighing up to 300 pounds are the smoothest and sturdiest.
When it was all said and done, it was a lot of work. It was also fun and extremely interesting. We’re admitted fitness equipment snobs because this is what we do for a living and we know when we see the good, the bad, or the ugly in products.
Some brands did better than we thought, some did worse. At the end of the day we did a review site that has a ton of information, stuff you would never read about on most other treadmill review sites. We put a ton of time and effort into researching topics that we know fitness enthusiasts really want to read about. We stuck a 6-4, 298-pound guy on each of these treadmills to test each brand’s 300-pound weight rating and it was AWESOME!
“I drank a lot of Diet Coke to get ready for this,” Sullivan joked. “Don’t try this at home!”
Truth is, we know there’s probably no way anyone would have time to try something like this at home. That’s why we did it for you! We hope our research will help you in your search for the best treadmill to fit your needs.
TREADMILL RATING DISCLAIMER:
First off, we are treadmill snobs and we are going to act like it. There are details in the spec and performance of treadmills which may be important to us, but not to you.
Take these rating with a grain of salt. The substantial amount of data that we have compiled will give you a great feel for what we thought. Keep in mind that most of the team that tested these treadmills weighed well over 200lbs and some pushing 300.lbs.
Treadmills will perform and feel different for someone who weighs 300lbs than for someone who weighs 120 pounds. If some of it is not important then disregard it. Find the stats that matter to you and go from there.
Also, feel free to contact us with questions. Know that our stores sell Life Fitness and 3G Cardio so we admittedly like these brands. We obviously like these brands enough to make space and represent them on our retail floors. As a fitness dealer for almost 20 years, we have the pick of the litter of brands.
Just like you may be in the market for a treadmill, we are in the market for entire treadmill lines. We choose the best to put on our floors, but we also want to know how they compare to the brands on Amazon and other online E-commerce platforms. As mentioned earlier, we were surprised by some of our findings. Lastly, we are not NASA scientists and engineers, we are treadmill sales and service people. We did our best to accurately test each of these treadmills, but there could be some discrepancies and mistakes in our reviews.
If you find a mistake please let us know so we can make the correction. We gave each brand a fair shake and really had no preference one way or another how each brand would perform.
At the time of this writing, we have zero affiliate links set up, we have received zero donations and truly did this review for our customers and a little for our own curiosity.
We hope you like this treadmill review site and we would love it if you LIKE and SUBSCRIBE and or DONATE to us so we can recoup some of the $20,000 we spent to make this happen. We will also be setting up affiliate links so hopefully we can earn a few dollars back. And yes, we really did spend $20,000 on this review site! If you have questions or comments please let us know.
